In January I fell and injured my left arm. This has made it very difficult to play guitar and has put a temporary slowdown on my work on the Woodland Brothers project. Last week, my orthopedist made the decision that surgery is not going to be warranted, but recovery is going to take several months longer. It really feels like two steps forward one step back.
The good news is I have regained some use of my arm. The bad news is I can’t play guitar for more than a few minutes without being in pretty severe pain. On top of it all, thanks to the opioid crisis, they won’t give me anything. I’m left using OTC pain meds.
A couple of weeks ago, I tested live-streaming with Bill, in hopes that we could start doing streaming shows while I get healthy enough to play gigs again. Then I got the idea that we might be able to do like we did with Cat-A-Tac and use backing tracks to fill in the second guitar I usually play. This sent me into Cakewalk to see if I could create a track that sounds good enough to use live.
I ended up getting carried away creating music and recorded a few songs that I’ve been thinking about lately. Here they are. I hope that you enjoy them and if you are interested in catching streaming shows either solo or with Woodland Brothers, please comment and let me know.
Without further ado… here are the tracks I have recorded so far.
